Freshfields named ‘Law Firm of the Year – Transactional’ at Property Investor Europe Awards 2017

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) is pleased to announce that the firm has been named ‘Law Firm of the Year – Transactional’ at the Property Investor Europe Awards 2017, which is run by Property Investor Europe magazine. The Property Investor Europe Awards recognise outstanding performance in commercial real estate.
The firm was honoured for an outstanding year of transactional success in the real estate sector. In particular, the judges noted the firm’s real estate and finance practice groups’ work in advising IVG, the German real estate group, over several years on successful restructurings, refinancings and complex group reorganisations. This work culminated last year with the two practice groups advising IVG on the transfer of its core real estate portfolio into the OfficeFirst vehicle, which was then sold to private equity investor Blackstone for €3.3bn. This was the largest transaction by deal value in the European real estate market in 2016.
The Freshfields real estate and finance practices have led on several other notable deals in the past 12 months, including advising TPG Real Estate and Ivanhoé Cambridge on the pre-sale refinancing and subsequent sale of P3 Logistic Parks, and on the acquisition and financing of a UK portfolio of car parks for Davidson Kempner.
The award was presented at a dinner at The Plaisterers’ Hall on 6 June 2017.
