Freshfields named ‘City Law Firm of the Year’ and ‘Competition and Regulatory Team of the Year’ at The Lawyer Awards 2019
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) is pleased to announce that the firm has won ‘City Law Firm of the Year ’ and ‘Competition and Regulatory Team of the Year’ at The Lawyer Awards 2019. The awards recognise exceptional talent in the City of London and across the industry.The ‘City Firm of the Year’ award recognised a year of outstanding transactional success and a focus on driving innovative solutions for its clients. In particular, the judges noted the firm’s work on several complex and strategic challenges. In 2018, the firm topped the UK M&A league tables after advising on 60 deals worth a total of US$144.4bn.
The ‘Competition and Regulatory’ award recognised the firm’s work advising Comcast on its high profile case against 21st Century Fox to acquire control of Sky. The firm acted as advisors to Comcast on the UK corporate and EU antitrust aspects of the deal and the regulatory process in multiple jurisdictions.
