Freshfields advises Van Leeuwen on takeover of Benteler Distribution
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP ('Freshfields') has advised the Netherlands based Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group ('Van Leeuwen') on the planned acquisition of BENTELER Distribution ('BD'), the international distribution division of BENTELER International AG.

The proposed acquisition will give Van Leeuwen access to further markets in Europe and contribute to enhancing its position as a leading distributor of pipe and tube materials across the continent. BD is active in 24 countries worldwide.

An international team advised Van Leeuwen on M&A, tax, financing and regulatory aspects of the deal. Partners Gregor von Bonin and Shawn der Kinderen advised on the corporate aspects of the deal alongside principle associate Moritz Koch. Thijs Flokstra provided guidance on finance while Georg Roderburg was leading on tax matters. Partner Dr. Peter Niggemann and principle associate Elske Raedts advised on competition law.
