Freshfields advises Budweiser Brewing Company APAC Limited on Hong Kong’s biggest IPO of 2019

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has advised Budweiser Brewing Company APAC Limited (‘Budweiser APAC’) on the US$5bn global offering and listing of its shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The transaction is the second-largest IPO globally in 2019 so far and is Hong Kong’s highest-value IPO to date in 2019. Trading in the shares commenced today (30 September 2019).
 
Budweiser APAC produces, imports, markets, distributes and sells a portfolio of more than 50 beer brands, including the global brands Budweiser, Stella Artois and Corona. It is the largest beer company in Asia-Pacific and is growing rapidly. 
 
The Freshfields team advising on the transaction was led by partner and China Chairman Teresa Ko, with support from partners David Ludwick, Vincent Macq and Valerie Ford Jacob.
