Freshfields’ Thomas Janssens appointed Co-Chair of International Bar Association Antitrust Section

The International Bar Association (IBA) has appointed Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP partner Thomas Janssens to serve as Co-Chair of the IBA’s Antitrust Section.  Thomas will serve a two-year term (2020-2021) alongside Co-Chair Daniel Swanson from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
 
Thomas heads Freshfields’ global antitrust, competition and trade group – a role he combines with his international client practice covering transactional and conduct matters as well as related litigation. 
 
The IBA – the global voice of the legal profession – is the foremost organisation for international legal practitioners.  With over 80,000 members today, it seeks to promote the goals of global stability and peace through the administration of justice.  The IBA’s Antitrust Section provides an international forum for thought leadership with respect to antitrust law through submissions to competition agencies, training programmes/missions to developing antitrust jurisdictions, developing the law through conferences, publications, and interaction with antitrust enforcement authorities and the profession.
