Freshfields advises CDPQ on the proposed acquisition of Bombardier Transportation by Alstom


Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP ('Freshfields') is advising Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec ('CDPQ’) on the proposed acquisition of Bombardier Inc.’s (‘Bombadier’) railway operations, Bombardier Transportation, by Alstom SA (‘Alstom’).

CDPQ, currently a shareholder of Bombardier Transportation, would sell the entirety of its shares in Bombardier Transportation to Alstom and would invest an additional €700m in Alstom.

The transaction is subject to works councils consultation and regulatory approvals.

The Freshfields team was led by partners Florent Mazeron and Yann Gozal, and included antitrust partner Rafique Bachour, employment law partners Christel Cacioppo and Gwen Senlanne, and tax partner Vincent Daniel-Mayeur.
